SYNOPSIS:

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you took Bram Stoker’s legendary vampire tale and put it into a blender with Mel Brooks, Monty Python, and 39-Steps? That’s exactly what happens in the fast-paced, laugh-out-loud romp Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors. When her sister Mina falls ill with a mysterious disease of the blood, Lucy Westfeldt and her fiancé, Jonathan Harker, enlist the help of famed female vampire hunter Doctor Jean Van Helsing. Their hunt for the dangerous yet sexy Count Dracula is packed with clever wordplay and quick-change antics. Five actors play over a dozen roles in this hilarious send-up of the literary classic. Come be a part of the new comedy classic, Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors!

Audition Details:

  • Preparation: Auditions will consist of cold reading from the script. Audition sides will be provided upon arrival. Accents are appreciated but not required. Bring your best comedic instincts, sense of play, and willingness to explore big bold character work.

  • Age Range: All actors must be 18+ years of age.

  • No audition appointment is necessary.

***An Important Note About Casting***

All genders, ethnicities, body types, and backgrounds will be considered during casting. Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors breaks up gender norms, and embraces sexiness of all types. Sexy is subjective and it’s about exuding a presence not having to fit a physical stereotype or norm.

This show is a true ensemble and requires broad physical humor, movement of set pieces and many extremely quick costume changes from all actors.

This show contains some sexual objectification. These characters are required to engage in stage kissing:

  • Lucy & Harker

  • Lucy & Dracula

  • Harker & Dracula

Also, please be aware that the actor portraying Dracula must be comfortable being shirtless on stage.

Auditioning for all these characters is confirmation from you that you are aware of and comfortable with these requirements.
