Season Changes Announced

Ojai Art Center Theater Artistic Director, Tracey Williams Sutton, announced changes to the 2022 line up of plays. Noel Coward‘s classic comedy, Blithe Spirit, has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances.

The fall time-slot will be filled by Walter Cronkite is Dead, running September 30 through October 16. Joe Carlaco‘s revealing comedy revolves around Patty and Margaret—two strangers forced together for a long night in a public place. Polar-opposites politically and culturally, the pair can choose to sit in stony silence or open a bottle of wine and begin to talk…and listen. This insightful 90-minute play illustrates what might be possible if people from opposites sides of the political aisle stopped shouting and took one night to listen.

Walter Cronkite is Dead is truly a play for our time,” Williams said. “One that can really open up a dialogue for the audience. And we’re very happy to welcome Kathleen Bosworth as a first-time director to the Art Center.” Bosworth has acted and directed for many theaters in Ventura County including Santa Paula Theater Center, and Flying H Group Theatre Company.

Walter Cronkite is Dead stars Jill Dolan, who recently directed Ojai ACT’s production of Steel Magnolias, and Sindy McKay, an award-winning TV writer, playwright, and actress who was last seen at the Ojai ACT in Night Must Fall.
