A Cast Falls Into Place for “Meteor Shower”

by Anna Kotula

Prepare to be delighted as Steve Martin’s “Meteor Shower” makes its hometown debut in the charming Ojai, California. To our knowledge, this marks the first-ever staging of this uproarious comedy in our area having only been performed on Broadway and at the Old Globe in San Diego originally, it is now coming to life in its actual hometown of Ojai! Catch it at the Ojai Arts Center Theatre from January 26 to February 18, directed by Brian Robert Harris, following its Broadway premiere in 2017.

In the quaint town of Ojai, a 1993 meteor shower lights up the skies, while Corky and Norm extend a dinner invitation to the feisty Gerald and Laura. As the night unfolds, hilariously belligerent and aggressive behavior takes center stage.

Meet the cast:

– Corky: Kimberly Demmary

– Norm: Evan Austin

– Gerald: John Medieros

– Laura: Anna Kotula

Entertainment Weekly’s Allison Adato raved about the Broadway production, describing “Meteor Shower” as “a very funny play. Keening-like-a-howler-monkey funny. Design-a-new-cry-laughing-emoji funny.” Don’t miss this comedic gem coming to the Ojai Arts Center Theatre!
